Coming July 1, players can enter the new era of Formula 1 in EA Sports F1 22, the official videogame of the 2022 FIA Formula One World Championship. Featuring the sport’s stunning new cars, F1 22 delivers a new handling model that recreates the intense wheel-to-wheel racing that’s had us on the edge of our seats so far in the 2022 Formula 1 season.
Players can also test their driving skills amongst the iconic Florida palm trees around the 19 challenging corners of the vibrant new Miami International Autodrome, and go flat out as F1 Sprint comes to the game for the first time. New race options give players more control over their virtual race day, with the opportunity to choose between immersive and broadcast-style Formation Laps, Safety Car periods, and Pit Stops. Get a taste of the glitz and glamour of Formula 1 in F1 Life, a new space to unlock and show off supercars, clothing, accessories, and more for the world to see.
The main innovations regarding the PS5 controller are the haptic feedback and the adaptive triggers in F1 22. Learn more about some of the PS5 features below.
Through utilizing the PS5 DualSense controller’s haptics, the feeling of both collisions and surfaces has been greatly enhanced. It gives the ability to communicate individual chunks of surface debris and creates a far more immersive experience to represent the car on a particular part of the track. Most notably, the sensation can be localized to the left or right. A great example of this is when just the left wheels of the player’s car are driven aggressively over a kerb, the feedback is felt exclusively through the left side of the controller, adding to the realism.
Taking advantage of the PS5 DualSense controller speaker, the player can hear their race engineer talk them through a session, feeding vital information and track data on their way to pole position or that all-important podium. Hear important HUD information via the controller speaker, leaving your main audio mix clean and free of distraction, the way a race should be heard.
For PS5, the adaptive triggers are utilised by attaching the amount of resistance directly to slip ratios of the tyres. What this means is when your car ‘locks up’ under braking, the amount of resistance through the brake trigger increases, resulting in a more immersive connection with the car. Likewise, when wheelspin occurs the resistance of the accelerator trigger is increased. A subtle difference to the resting resistance of the accelerator and brake triggers has also been applied to simulate the difference in pressure needed to fully depress the brake vs accelerator pedals in a real-life F1 car.

Will voice commands work on PS5 this time?
It would be nice if we could change the publisher/developer in the options menu, LOL.

I hope motion steering will also be included.
my guess ps5 pro controller be 150 it a pass when can get extra for a year for that only & sony only fault with the dualsense is the battery life
What does this have to do with anything?
Apples to Oranges as well plus extra value versus the rumoured “pro” controller.
If you are salty about the battery life, set to weak, weak, dim. Get a second controller and or a charging station.
Yes a controller like Switch Pro has fantastic battery life, but it doesn’t do what the sense does.
If you are going to criticize the DS, you should talk about the sadge dpad and worse face buttons than the ds4. Which also had “bad” battery life compared to ds3.
Keep guessing, just like i see you complaining about Ragnarok and the rest in other blog posts.
The dual sense is the greatest stock controller in the history of gaming. If you have two controllers and a charging dock it’s not an issue and quite honestly battery life is comparable to all previous PlayStation controllers. Stop making fake criticisms.
Don’t take EA at it’s word for making good use of the rumble and triggers on dualsense on PS5. All their NHL and Fifa titles that have supported the sense have done a very poor job to outright so bad you have to turn it off in the case of the triggers on fifa.
In fifa 21 you cannot even turn the triggers locking up when only your players are “tired” in game, you have to do it system level. Just awful. Most people play the ps4 version of the game on ps5 as well because of their touted upgrades actually making the game worse.
GT7 does it well (the store and raffle tickets are another matter]
And it remains no games touch the pack in tech demo game Astrobot for haptics.
I hope this is on Gt7s level or better for these features but I don’t hold much expectation for EA as a long time player, Even Jedi Fallen Order on PS5 a good game, was hardly noticeable for haptics, and we will see on release what 2 does the potential on the features are absolutely there. Just not when you make it so i cannot push the run button and the controller doesn’t even rumble on tackles or hitting the ball / into the goal posts or crossbar. Fifa 23 will be the same garb i’d bet a case of beer on it.
There’s no way it’s going to be on gt7 level that’s the goat in racing and top three overall for dual sense.
