The latest charts have come through from the land of the rising sun via sales tracker Famitsu for the week of 16th January, 2023 to 22nd January, 2023. There’s a new No.1 dethroning Pokemon Scarlet & Violet‘s long run at the top of the charts since release and it is the new entry in the acclaimed Fire Emblem series, Fire Emblem Engage on Nintendo Switch. Fire Emblem Engage shifted 144,558 retail copies which is slightly more than Fire Emblem: Three Houses which sold 143,130 copies during its first week on sale in 2019. The best-selling system was the Nintendo Switch family selling 51,587 units, though more stock of Sony’s PlayStation 5 console must have arrived as it shifted 42,152 units this week. Here’s the best-sellers in Japan:

I found Pokemon Scarlet and Violet to be Satire at best. It’s a shame they moved so far away from legends Arceus that they had to put out a rushed piece of junk that can hardly stand as a modern Pokemon title
Then you’ll be happy to know that a Pokemon Legend Arceus sequel “might” possibly be in development. It’s just speculation, but rumours are circulating that a potential Legend Arceus Sequel might be on the horizon called “Pokemon Legend Celebi”
Very nice Nikki, that would be the kings cheese 😁💖 and it would be nice to have a double release with let’s go Johto too, like they did with diamond and pearl. If we are to get such games, it would have to be this years end, or next.
Also just a rumor, but supposedly Pokemon Scarlet and Violet dlc that adds additional legendary Pokemon might be in the works. It was leaked online by a reliable source, but im not sure how reliable. I found an article on ComicBook.com and Gematsu about potential additional content and a sequel for Legend Arceus.
Fire emblem engage looks so bad. But guess it will sell to the lowest denominator.
