O designer-chefe do Simpsons Hit & Run diz que Super Mario 64 foi um dos jogos que o influenciou

The Simpsons Hit & Run may not have been the perfect video game, but it still evokes wonderful memories for those who played it. Games Radar caught up with the game’s lead designer Joe McGinn as the game approaches its twentieth anniversary and it is a very good interview. McGinn was asked about the games which influenced it and of course Grand Theft Auto popped up, but another game which influenced the development team was the iconic Super Mario 64. McGinn says that Mario’s 3D adventure was a huge influence amongst the team as it was the best gaming platformer by a country mile at the time and that they where largely influenced by the classic game’s control system and the camera system. Here’s what he said:
“Two other big influences: one was Driver. The original Driver, on PSOne, because the cars were just so much fun to drive with the action-movie-style drifting they perfected. That was the driving physics we were going for and our physics and vehicle-tuning team just nailed it. We knew we had a solid foundation to build upon when the car was fun to drive on an empty, flat surface.”
“The other influence was Super Mario 64. That’s the ‘kids’ part… taking all the nasty out of GTA and replacing it with platforming. And mechanically Mario 64 was the best platformer that had been made by that time, where we learned a lot about character control and camera.”

I really wish they would do a port of this game. I know Nostalgia has a part to play in it but I remember having so much fun with this game.
