We found out yesterday that Konami has been busy creating remasters for the classic Suikoden series and that Suikoden 1 and 2 HD Remaster is being readied to launch on Nintendo Switch and other platforms next year. The remasters are in good hands as they are being produced by long-time Konami developers like Yasuo Daikai and Takahiro Sakiyama, the latter of whom directed Suikoden 5. Speaking to IGN the pair said they don’t want to stop there as they would love to continue working on Suikoden series if sales of the remastered collection prove to be a success.
“I can’t say anything specific right now but we didn’t really want to have an end with just the remaster,” Daikai says, “So yes, I would really like to keep making more Suikoden games in the future. So we hope all of our fans will root for us and support us, and we hope that we can deliver on those promises and you guys can enjoy them.”
The two developers also hinted to IGN that the remasters were greenlit when Suikoden series series creator Yoshitaka Murayama went on Kickstarter to pitch the spiritual successor to the original Suikoden, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, which was funded almost immediately by eager gamers.
“When you think of Konami’s RPGs, you think of Suikoden. It has a lot of fans and it’s a really good product, so from here on out we want to make sure that lots of people are able to interact with the series that we’ve made.”

I don’t think they have to worry about the fanbase not rooting for them or supporting them, i hope it doesn’t end with the remasters and they continue making Suikoden games. Pretty sure it’s safe to assume the sales from the remaster will be a success. Based of the comments I’ve seen on YouTube and different websites everyone seems hyped for the remaster.
