Persona series insider, Im A Hero Too, on ResetEra has provided an update on what Atlus is up to and how their schedule is coming along. The individual previously said that a full remake of Persona 3 is in development at Atlus along with the next mainline Persona game which is, Persona 6. The insider claims that both games are currently “far along in development” which sounds as though they are both progressing well and that Atlus is planning to reveal both Persona 3 Remake and Persona 6 sometime this summer.
“Remake is pretty far along last I saw but so was 6. Last I heard, summer reveal. With 3 games in dev, I’m still shocked they keep cancelling/changing reveal timing with events/press.”

Ok but being dead honest what would be the point of the remake if their already releasing a port, unless the remake has bunch of qol and a whole big new story mode, I guess that’ll justify it but to have a remake appear 2 or 3 years after a port would be so dumb.
What would be the point of releasing a game twice? On a Nintendo console? Lol… $$$$$$$$$
Pretty sure p3, p3 fes, and p3 portable all had enough differences to combine the games and expand gameplay with new shit from newer games.
I think the better question would be “why release a port when the remake is already on the way?”
It was an easy sell, also they haven’t announced the remake yet so your average gamer doesn’t even think about the idea of a remake being on the way anytime soon.
Actually from a business perspective it’s very smart because it’ll definitely sell, they did that with P5 Royal and that’s not even a full remake. It sold extremely well just on the PS4 alone.
A full remake of Persona 3 would be amazing… if they actually do it correctly.
I have a horrible feeling that, with Atlus being Atlus, something major will be missing from the remake which will make it inferior to the other versions (leaving out “The Answer” from FES, or leaving out the FeMC from P3P, etc). It feels like the sort of thing they’d do.
I really hope I’m wrong about that, because P3 deserves more. It’s literally the game that created the formula that’s made the Persona series such a smash hit in recent years. It deserves to have a definitive version at long last.
